In partnership with the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, and the Middelton-Moz Institute, the OFIFC has launched a Master of Social Work degree specialization in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency (MSW-ITR).

The MSW-ITR program provides students with a course of study in trauma relevant to the complex needs and demands of practitioners working with individuals, families, schools and communities affected by generational and historical pain and suffering.

Trauma-informed services recognize that the core of any service is genuine, authentic and compassionate relationships. The MSW-ITR graduates professionals who understand Indigenous community-based approaches to social work and can offer meaningful insights for better meeting the needs of Indigenous communities.

Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency is a two-year program that offers both in-person intensive courses and online distance learning.
