The Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres would like to announce the departure of our CEO Gertie Mai Muise. Our board of directors, senior leadership team, and staff would like to thank Gertie Mai for her leadership over the past two years, particularly during a time of tumultuous change as we collectively navigated an unprecedented global health crisis together.

Gertie Mai remains a friend of the Friendship Centres and the movement, and we wish her nothing but the best as she pursues a new opportunity. We thank her deeply for her service to Ontario Friendship Centres.

In the interim, while we commence an executive search, the OFIFC Board of Directors has delegated the CEO authorities among the four members of our C-Suite:

  • Beth Boros, Chief Learning Officer
  • Sean Longboat, Chief Programs Officer
  • Suze Morrison, Chief Engagement Officer
  • Tracy Syrette, Chief Operating Officer

Support for Friendship Centres remains our priority focus, and we are committed to continuing our work advancing the priorities of urban Indigenous communities during this transition.
