The Region of Peel is situated in the traditional territory of the Mississauga’s of the New Credit. Peel Aboriginal Network (PAN) was established in 2003 by a group of local Indigenous residents. 

A formal Circle of Directors was formed in 2007, and in the following year PAN was incorporated as a non-profit organization. In 2009, PAN opened as a Cultural Centre to provide a social setting to foster cultural awareness and education, and provide services and support to the Indigenous community in the Region of Peel. PAN is a new member of the OFIFC, joining the Federation in 2014.
